“Style empowers me.
Some say it’s bad optics to care about how you look, but I don’t see eye to eye with that point of view. It’s truly an eye-opening experience to try out new looks and see oneself through a different lens. In the blink of an eye, I can be any version of me that I envision in my mind’s eye.”

“You may be wondering why there's a photo of a hand-painted Baby Yoda carrying a tablet. You see, this actually encompasses what empowers me as a woman. Confused? Read on.
Hi. My name is Bridgette, and I have been diagnosed as clinically depressed among other things. Were it not for the strong support of my family and loved ones, I would not be here today.
The tablets with Baby Yoda are my anti-depressants. I take them because my family empowers me and gives me the will to live. Having the right professional and medical help as well as emotional support for my mental health issues has done wonders for my life and for my passion in art (in fact, I'm the one who hand-painted this miniature sculpture of Baby Yoda!) There are still some dark days in my life but as long as I have family by my side, I gain the courage to fight every single day.”

“I am empowered by farming and business because they give me financial independence and the ability to care for my child without relying on others.”

"In 2013, I was drugged and raped during the modeling job. My pornographic photographs were published online about 6 months later with my name and contact information. The rapist attempted to sex traffic me. I was ashamed and depressed about what had happened. I stopped dancing and doing everything I loved for the full year after the assault. I discovered the burlesque show on the first anniversary of my assault. I saw it as a sign for me to take what I've lost back. Burlesque empowers me to take back my body, my sexuality, and discover what I love about myself."

“Recovering from my failures empowers me because they far outnumber my successes and I have learned from them.”

“What empowers me is being a woman scientist. Science has always been dominated by men but there are now many women working in science and we are all trying to help each other to make a better future. No competition but ambition!
